2.2 Consensus
Consensus is a process for group decision-making. It is a method by which an entire group of people can come to an agreement. The input and ideas of all participants are gathered and synthesized to arrive at a final decision acceptable to all.
- In order to reach consensus, it is not necessary that everyone expresses their will or opinion. The distribution of preferences remains unknown.
- But what is the decision rule, then?
- The decision-rule is that no one disagrees. To be more precise: consensus means that no one expresses dissent.
